Select mirrorNOTE: By downloading KateOS you accept the terms and conditions outlined in the KateOS License Agreement (see KateOS_EULA).KateOS license agreement This license agreement governs the download, installation or use of the Software (as defined below). By downloading, installing or using the Software, User agrees to the terms of this agreement and understands all terms of this agreement. 1. KateOS logos (the "Logos") are the images copyrighted by Adam Rakowski and/or Damian Rakowski (those logos can be found at http://www.kateos.org/?sekcja=logos, or in "logos" directory located in the first installation KateOS CD/DVD ISO image). 2. KateOS (the "Software") is a modular operating system based on the Linux kernel, consisting of many software components. Every single component has it's own end user license agreement placed in the component's source code, or "/usr/doc" directory of binary KateOS packages. With the exception of image files, containing the Logos, the license terms for the components permit user User to copy, modify and redistribute the component, in both source code and binary code forms. This agreement does not limit the license terms of any particular component. All license terms of any particular component still apply. 3. This agreement permits User to distribute unmodified copies of Software using the Logos (as defined above). If User modifies the Software, then User must replace all images containing the Logos. 4. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE COMPONENTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED. 5. IN NO EVENT SHALL KateOS project, and all KateOS developers BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OF THIS SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. It is highly recommended that all downloaders check their downloaded files for accuracy. MD5 checksums are provided for this purpose. In order to check your files, use a tool called md5sum (Windows users will need to download md5sum.exe below). The md5sum utility will produce a checksum, which should match the provided checksum of the files. If you want to check your downloads (it doesn't take very long), simply save the .md5 files from the download directory into the same directory as the .iso files you downloaded. The checksums have the same name as the ISOs, but with the .md5 extension. [ Download md5sum.exe ] Windows users will need to place md5sum.exe in their path: Windows 95/98/Me: save the md5sum.exe file to c:\windows\command Windows NT/2000/XP: save the md5sum.exe file to c:\winnt\system32 (or c:\windows\system32) To check the files, open a command prompt and change to the directory where the ISO and MD5 files were saved, and run the command: md5sum -c FILENAME.MD5 This command will tell you if the images you downloaded are correct, or if they need to be downloaded again. If the files are OK, they are ready to be burned to disc. |
